Last Saturday I had my first performance as a member of G
splash, which is the dance club in the Sophia University. This performance was
called “spring party” and it was held in the event place in Shinkiba. Many
dance clubs in different universities gather and show the performance to each
other.
The 20th member, which I belong, was divided in to 2 genres. One is the Lock and the other is the hip-hop. I was in the hip-hop group. We started practicing for this performance since we joint the club. In each genre there were two 19th members who made the dance and help us practicing it. The seniors who took charge of hip-hop group were Minako-san and Shimaken-san. Minako-san is generally so cute however when she dances she changes very much that she looks so stunning. Shimaken-san is very high tensioned and funny so I had the enjoyable practice and didn’t feel any pain when we started the every day practice. Like Minako-san he looks stunning when he dances. They were both so kinds that they looked after us so neatly and remembered all our names that there were about 70 people and I can’t still remember it.
One day, Minako-san and Shimaken-san made the structure of the performance and they decided the position where each person is going to dance. Surprisingly, they let me be the position in the very front line and next to the center. I was so delighted that my motivation became higher than before and I practiced when I had time and also I listened to the music for the image training when I was in the train on the way to university and back home.
I think the performance went well and what is more is that I enjoyed being on the stage and being in the spotlights. The practice was very hard but it was so enjoyable. I again felt that I love dance and I can’t live without it.
After we had the performance we had the party for saying well done to each one for practicing the performance for a long time. In that party we(20th) gather some money to give present to Minako-san and Shimaken-san. We gave rucksack and T shirts to Minako-san and camera and hat to Shimaken-san. We also gave some card which we all write a message. They liked our present. And they gave a small message card which all has different message. I think it took long time to write 70 people's card. I was so delighted and now I am putting the cards in the photo frame and putting on my table so that I can see it every time.
Now I have to choose which genre to make it my first genre and I’m wondering weather to choose house or hip-hop. House is the genre I felt it is attractive since I saw the performance, which they did in the freshman week. However after learning the hip-hop from Minako-san and Shimaken-san I felt one day in the future I want to be on the same stage as Minako-san and Shimaken-san.
The next stage is the event called G-splash event and I’m going to do the showcase of House. There are 9 members including Natsume in the same writing class. Our team is called “AQUO” and all the members are not only friendly but also very good at House so I am trying to practice when I have time so that I won’t ruin the performance. At the end of this month, all the teams who are going to be in the G-splash event have to dance so that a person in charge can choose the order of the performance. The better performances are put near at the end so we are trying to be near at the end more than any other team, which is made up by the 20th members. I’m looking forward to be on the stage soon with my AQUO members.
