This time, I would like to talk about
my precious experiences I have done in the past. There are two big experiences
I have done. One is taking the audition of "Tensai telebi-kun" and
another is being in the film of the "Charlie and the chocolate
factory" as one of the many Japanese girls who came to buy the
chocolate.
I took the audition of "Tensai
telebi-kun" which is also known as "tentere" when I was about 10
years old. I really can't remember how old I was. Any way, my dance teacher got
this chance of taking part of the audition for 2 girls in her dance school and
she chose me as one of the girl to take part. This TV program was so famous
that I wish I could appear in this. My mother allowed me to take this audition
as she thought it would be good chance to have this kind of experience. The
first judgement was the photo. I went to the photo studio to take the photo to
send. Another girl, who took the audition, and my dance teacher was here too.
This photo taking was so weird to me at that time. I was thinking of posing in
front of the camera, but as soon as I went in front of the white cloth, the cameraman
told me to dance. I was so confused but I did what he
told me. My dance teacher danced some steps in front of me so I copied what she
did. The photo taking was so fun! I wish I would have another chance of taking
photo in this big studio in the future tooJ I luckily passed the first
judgement!! The second audit was at the television station. This was also my
first time to go to the television station. My first impression of it was so
big. This was only thing I thought. I saw the children who were in this
“tentere” program and I became to have stronger feeling that I want to be in
this program. In second audit first thing I had to do was to think of the original
character. I think it was examining how much interesting thought the examinees
has. The character I drew was clod man I think. I remember it was not
interesting at all. Hahaha.. If I could take this exam again I would think of
more interesting and funny one! Second thing we did was showing our special
talent. So I danced a piece, which I loved. I think I did my best and I believe
it wasn’t bad. But unfortunately I failed in second audit. I was sad and I
thought I shouldn’t have taken the exam at that time but now I think it was
good experience to take part in this audition.
Next is being in the film of the
"Charlie and the chocolate factory" as one of the many Japanese
children who came to buy the chocolate.
I had this chance from my friend’s father who was working as the newspaper
editor in London. Director of this film was looking for some Japanese children
who would act as a Japanese children coming to buy the chocolate. This scene
was taken in a big studio in London. We had to go there twice. Once when we
measure the size for the costume, which mine was the uniform of the secondly
school known as sailor suit. Second time was when we take the scene. The scene
taking took more than 6 hours though the scene was only less than a minutes. We
had to prepare spending an hour, waiting for 4 hours and took the 10-second
scene spending an hour. The scenes were children running in to the sweet shop
so we ran like 20 times. Taking it over and over again. We had the chance to
have lunch in the dining room in this studio and I think I saw the dwarfs in
this film called the Oompa-loompas. (I forgot the spelling.) I’m not sure. Any way the
lunch was deliciousJ And I also so the setting
of when Charlie and Willy Wonka flies in the bubble. I saw the big tank filled
with melted chocolate, which actually was a brown paint.

I feel how lucky I am to have these
experiences and I really want to thank my dance teacher and my friend's father and
also my parents who permit to take part in these precious experiences.
Hello Maharu~ This is Aya :)
ReplyDeleteI've raed your post and what I felt was... I really want to see you're dancing!! I knew that you are good at dancing, but I did not know that you are so good at dancing that your dance teacher chose you to be the one!And you were only 10yo then!! Please let me know when you will have performance in public next time ;)
What? Are you on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? And you saw Deep Roy who plays Oompa Loompa? Well, I really do not like that character because they are too wired, but I still envy you very much that you are a part of Tim Burton's film!! I remember the scene you mention so I will look for you when I see the film next time! Though I am not sure whether I can recognize little Maharu haha
ReplyDeleteAnyway that is such a great experience!
